Thyroid cancer patients with ultrasound (US) thyroiditis exhibit a lower malignancy risk in sonographic indeterminate lymph nodes (LNs) at the central compartment than those without thyroiditis, according to a study involving 531 compartments and 349 patients. While the overall malignancy rates were not statistically significant between the two groups, the indeterminate category in the thyroiditis group showed significantly lower malignancy (35.7%) than the non-thyroiditis group (71.9%). The study suggests a potential link between US thyroiditis and reduced malignancy risk in thyroid cancer patients.
