Association of Remnant Cholesterol and Lp-PLA2 with Adverse Events

The large-scale study explored the relationship between remnant cholesterol (RC) and lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) with composite adverse events, including stroke, myocardial infarction, and all-cause mortality. Among 1864 participants, those with high RC and Lp-PLA2 levels had increased risks for composite adverse events (hazard ratio = 1.43). Sex and age influenced the joint association of RC and Lp-PLA2 with adverse outcomes, highlighting their synergistic effect.
