Association of Renal Resistive Indices with Kidney Disease Progression and Mortality

A retrospective study assessed 192 chronic kidney disease patients to explore the link between renal resistive indices (RRI) and mortality or dialysis initiation. Results showed a negative correlation between baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and RRI. Patients with RRI ≥ 0.7 exhibited higher mortality risk, even after adjusting for interventions and lifestyle changes. The study suggests that RRI could serve as an independent prognostic factor in chronic kidney disease, emphasizing its potential relevance in predicting outcomes after therapeutic interventions.
