Awareness and Use of ChatGPT and Large Language Models: A Prospective Cross-sectional Global Survey

Since its November 2022 release, ChatGPT has intrigued the medical community. This study surveyed 456 urologists globally via an open web-based survey from April 20 to May 5, 2023, exploring their perspectives on using ChatGPT in urology. Nearly half use ChatGPT in academic practice, but only 19.8% integrate it into clinical settings. While acknowledging its research potential, urologists express concerns about ethics (62.2%) and limitations (53%) in academic use. The findings underscore a desire for regulations and guidelines to ensure safe and ethical integration of ChatGPT in urology.
