In a prospective study involving 177 chronic hepatitis B patients, researchers assessed the effects of transitioning from tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) or entecavir to tenofovir alafenamide (TAF). While those switching from TDF experienced significant increases in body weight, triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose, and insulin resistance, the shift from entecavir didn't elicit these changes. Findings emphasize the need for extended observation of TAF's impact on patients' metabolic health.
