This review compares the effectiveness of three treatments—botulinum toxin type A (BTX A), carbamazepine (CBZ), and oxcarbazepine (OXB) in managing trigeminal neuralgia (TN). After searching various databases, 46 articles were retrieved, with 29 meeting inclusion criteria. Among these, 11 explored CBZ and OXB effects, while 18 focused on BTX A. Response rates varied, with BTX A showing promising results (51.4%-100%) and fewer side effects compared to CBZ and OXB. BTX A emerges as a favorable alternative for TN treatment, though further clinical trials are needed to confirm its efficacy and establish standardized protocols
