Breast Ultrasound Features Enhance Prediction of Axillary Lymph Node Burden in Early Invasive Breast Cancer

In a study involving 1247 early invasive breast cancer lesions, researchers redirected the assessment of axillary lymph node status based on the Z0011 trial. Utilizing preoperative breast ultrasound and clinicopathological features, they categorized lesions into high and limited lymph node burden groups. Significant differences in various factors, including ki-67 and ultrasound features, were observed between the two groups. Multifactorial analysis identified five key risk factors, leading to a predictive model with an AUC of 0.702.
