Digital technologies have greatly enhanced various aspects of life, but individuals with intellectual disabilities often face significant barriers to accessing these resources. A thematic analysis of focus groups and interviews with over 200 participants from Ireland, Sweden, France, and the Netherlands revealed that the pandemic worsened the digital divide, affecting physical and mental well-being. The need for accessible digital skills training has become more pressing. Addressing these disparities is essential to ensure equitable access and well-being for people with intellectual disabilities. Key barriers and facilitators identified in the study will inform the development of digital skills education content in the Digi-ID project.
