Built Environment and BMI Changes from Adolescence to Adulthood

This study examined the impact of changes in the built environment (fast-food restaurant density and walkability) on BMI development from adolescence to young adulthood, and whether genetic risk moderates these associations. Using data from the TRAILS study and GECCO, the findings suggest that neither fast-food restaurant density nor walkability significantly influenced BMI changes, and genetic risk did not moderate these associations.
