CAL Doubles the Risk of MI-CAD and MINOCA

People with chronic airway lung disease (CAL) have almost double the risk of both myocardial infarction due to coronary artery disease (MI-CAD) and non-obstructive coronary artery MI (MINOCA) compared to those without CAL. This risk varies by sex: men are more at risk for MINOCA, while women are more at risk for MI-CAD. These findings highlight the importance of considering both types of MI in individuals with CAL.
