This review highlights the prevalence, pathogenesis, diagnostics, and therapeutics of calcinosis cutis associated with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Affecting up to 40% of SSc patients, calcinosis leads to significant morbidity. Factors such as disease duration, vascular dysfunction, and altered phosphate metabolism are implicated. While surgical treatment is most effective, few medical therapies show mild benefits, with ongoing research needed to establish effective interventions.
