Cardiovascular and Metabolic Comorbidities Linked to Alzheimer’s Disease

Hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and depression are prevalent in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients. A study of 2527 AD patients found hypertension diagnosed 1.09 years before AD onset, while depression appeared 0.16 years after. Data from 2008–2019 highlight the need for early intervention in cardiovascular and metabolic conditions to mitigate AD risk. These findings suggest preventive strategies and improved care pathways for AD patients.
