Cardiovascular Burden Improvement Following Selective Fetoscopic Laser Photocoagulation

In a study of 198 TTTS subjects, fetal echocardiograms pre- and post-SFLP showed significant cardiovascular improvements. The recipient twin (R) had increased MCA PI, decreased UA PI, and improved CPR, while the donor twin (D) showed similar reductions in MCA and UA PI but no CPR change. The CHOP CV Score decreased post-SFLP, especially in those with higher pre-treatment cardiovascular burden. Further study is needed to understand these mechanisms.
