In a study evaluating surgical outcomes for intratympanic membrane cholesteatomas (ITMCs), the endoscopic cartilage-perichondrium graft technique successfully treated 11 adult patients. Of these, 81.8% had atrophic tympanic membranes (TMs) or TM scar healing, and 18.2% had TM perforations. Endoscopic findings showed keratin debris at the perforation site. Cholesteatoma, confined to the TM according to CT scans, was successfully removed, and all grafts led to complete closure of perforations within 12 months. Tinnitus improved by 77.7%, ear fullness by 92.9%, and the mean air-bone gap improved from 28.6 dB to 16.2 dB. The study supports the efficacy of this technique for ITMCs with TM issues.
