The study used Mendelian randomization to explore the potential bidirectional association between cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and erectile dysfunction (ED). The results suggested that genetic susceptibility to ischemic stroke (IS), heart failure (HF), and coronary heart disease (CHD) was causally associated with ED, but genetic susceptibility to ED did not confer any increased risk of CVD. These findings can inform prevention and intervention strategies for ED in IS, HF, and CHD patients.
