A population-based cohort study investigated whether cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) independently poses a risk for nontraumatic subdural hemorrhage (SDH). The study analyzed data from 487,223 and 158,008 individuals and found that CAA is an independent risk factor for SDH, indicating its potential as a novel risk factor for this condition. The findings, obtained through Cox proportional hazards models and logistic regression analyses, suggest a significant association between CAA and heightened SDH risk.
