Clinical characteristics and risk factors of myopic retinoschisis in an elderly high myopia population

Retinoschisis (RS), described as retinal splitting at the retina, is the early stage and the most common type of myopic tractional maculopathy (MTM).Recently, a hospital-based study first proposed the hypothesis that RS may extend from the paravascular area to the macula. The Shanghai High Myopia Study for Adults was a population-based, cross-sectional study conducted from January 2016 to December 2018 in both urban and rural areas of Shanghai, China.
