A study published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of revision arthroscopic osteocapsular arthroplasty (OCA) compared to primary surgery in patients with elbow osteoarthritis (OA). The study analyzed data from 61 patients who underwent OCA between January 2010 and July 2020. The results showed that the primary surgery group had a better range of motion (ROM) both preoperatively and postoperatively compared to the revision group. However, the degree of improvement in ROM was similar between the two groups. The postoperative pain scores and functional scores were comparable between the two groups. The revision surgery group had a longer operative time and a slightly higher complication rate. The study concluded that revision arthroscopic OCA is a viable treatment option for primary elbow OA with recurrent symptoms, although the postoperative ROM may be slightly worse compared to primary surgery.

Current care emphasizes diagnosis, limited targeted testing, disease monitoring and stepwise treatment, beginning with second-generation H1-antihistamines and up-dosing when needed. Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.

However, limited comparative evidence highlights the need for species-specific, high-quality randomized trials.

A retrospective study of 33 women with postpartum hemorrhage during cesarean delivery found that uterine compression sutures achieved hemostasis in 69.7% of cases. A meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials found that as-needed ICS–SABA significantly reduced asthma exacerbations compared with SABA-only reliever therapy. ICS–SABA lowered exacerbation rates and the risk of experiencing at least one exacerbation by 31%, while extending time to first exacerbation and reducing systemic corticosteroid exposure by about 39 mg, without increasing adverse events.

An exploratory study found that the teach-back method, supported by multimodal communication strategies, improved understanding during a simulated informed-consent process among people with aphasia.
