
This meta-analysis explored the clinical presentations of isolated sphenoid sinus disease (ISSD). The study included 18 studies with over 1000 patients. Headache was the most common symptom (67.9%), followed by nasal symptoms (29.7%) and visual disturbances (14.0%). A significant difference in visual symptoms was noted between neoplastic and inflammatory cases. Nasendoscopy had a high false-negative rate (52%), emphasizing the importance of imaging.
