Cognitive and Mental Health Impact of Chronic vs. Episodic Migraine

Migraine affects cognition, mental health, and quality of life. A study of 60 patients found that chronic migraine was linked to cognitive impairment and depression, while episodic migraine was associated with anxiety. Memory and selective attention were the most affected domains. Longer disease duration and social interaction appeared protective against cognitive decline. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive, multidisciplinary interventions for migraine sufferers.
