Praziquantel alone has limitations in treating Schistosoma mansoni infections due to low efficacy against juvenile worms and potential resistance. This randomized trial in Kenyan children evaluated praziquantel combined with artemisinin-based therapies. Praziquantel plus artesunate-mefloquine (88.7% cure rate) and praziquantel plus dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine (85.7% cure rate) showed non-inferiority to praziquantel alone (82.5%). Both combinations were safe, but further multicenter trials are needed to validate these findings.
