A recent meta-analysis of patient-level data from eight prominent trials investigated the impact of comorbidities on the efficacy of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in heart failure patients. The study considered comorbidities such as atrial fibrillation (AF), coronary artery disease (CAD), diabetes, and hypertension. Among 6324 patients, 15% had no comorbidities, 64% had 1-2 comorbidities, and 21% had ≥3 comorbidities. The analysis revealed that CRT reduced all-cause mortality and heart failure hospitalization (HFH) or all-cause mortality, irrespective of comorbidity burden. The findings emphasize the potential benefits of CRT for heart failure patients with multiple comorbid conditions.
