The article summarizes the results of a meta-analysis comparing the clinical efficacy and safety of two forms of insulin glargine: Glargine-U100 (Lantus) and Glargine-U300 (Toujeo). The meta-analysis included 15 randomized controlled trials with 9304 patients with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The results showed that both forms of insulin had comparable efficacy and safety profiles in both types of diabetes. However, Glargine-U300 showed a lower risk of nocturnal and total hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes, and patients on Glargine-U300 required more units of insulin to achieve equivalent efficacy compared to Glargine-U100.
