
A study comparing femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) with conventional phacoemulsification (CPS) in high myopia patients revealed promising results. Ninety-seven eyes were analyzed, with FLACS showing lower cumulative dissipated energy and less increase in central corneal thickness (CCT) compared to CPS at 1 week and 1 month post-surgery. Both groups had similar corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) and intraocular pressure (IOP) at the final visit. FLACS demonstrated advantages in reducing endothelial cell loss and promoting faster recovery of corneal, macular, and choroidal thickness, indicating its safety and efficacy for high myopia cataract patients.
