A recent study conducted at a leading pediatric academic centre compared the pain experienced by surgically naïve children undergoing Tympanostomy tube insertion (TTI) under two different anesthesia methods: general anesthesia (GA) and local anesthesia (LA). The prospective single‐center study found that children in the LA group reported statistically significant higher pain levels during various stages of the procedure compared to those in the GA group, as measured by pain scales. However, both groups showed similar improvements in quality of life (QoL), and parental satisfaction with the choice of anesthesia was comparable.
