In a multicentric study, the technical reproducibility of Compartmental Tongue Surgery (CTS) in advanced tongue cancers (OTSCC) was evaluated and compared to Standard Wide Margin Surgery (SWMS). Results indicate that in the CTS group, survival and prognosis were significantly linked to positive lymph nodes, extranodal extension, depth of invasion, and involvement of the soft tissue connecting the tongue primary tumor to neck lymph nodes, irrespective of the surgical center. Compared to SWMS, CTS exhibited a significantly improved Cause-Specific Survival and Loco-Regional Recurrence Survival. It suggests that CTS may offer superior outcomes in advanced OTSCC, regardless of the surgical center.
