
A study at a university dental hospital assessed cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) use in children and young individuals, exploring associations with age, gender, and field of view (FOV). The mean age was 13.57 years, with "malocclusion and dentofacial anomaly" as the most common indication (28.7%). Males showed higher rates of facial trauma, dental trauma, and supernumerary tooth, while females had more cases related to "malocclusion and dentofacial anomaly" and implant planning. A larger FOV was often preferred, not fully aligning with guidelines. The study noted an increasing trend in CBCT examinations in this demographic.
