This study investigated the impact of a low-oxygenation strategy versus a high-oxygenation strategy on 28-day mortality in mechanically ventilated ICU patients. Despite aiming for different oxygenation levels, the groups had no significant difference in mortality. The study, halted prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suggests that, for the population studied, oxygenation strategies within the specified ranges did not yield divergent outcomes.
