The study evaluated whether continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) can decrease hypoglycemia in patients with post-bariatric hypoglycemia (PBH). It included 22 participants with PBH who wore CGM devices in two phases: masked and unmasked. The unmasked phase showed a decrease in hypoglycemia and glycaemic variability, with increased time spent in normoglycemia. The study concluded that real-time CGM data and alarms could help patients detect hyperglycemic peaks and prevent hypoglycemia, making CGM devices potentially beneficial for PBH patients, particularly those with hypoglycemia unawareness.
