A recent study analyzed data from 169 hospitals and over 8,000 COVID-19 patients admitted across Asia, Europe, and North America between December 2019 and March 2020 revealed crucial findings. The study focused on the link between cardiovascular diseases and in-hospital death among COVID-19 patients. It identified several factors independently associated with a higher risk of in-hospital death, including age, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and smoking.
