Cost‐effectiveness of ultrasound at the time of non‐invasive prenatal screening for fetal aneuploidy

To determine the cost‐effectiveness of first-trimester ultrasound before non‐invasive prenatal screening (NIPS) for fetal aneuploidy with cell‐free DNA. In the base‐case analysis, ultrasound before cell‐free DNA screening was more cost‐effective than cell‐free DNA screening without pre‐test ultrasound, with ICER of 12,588 and higher Net Monetary Benefit. First-trimester ultrasound before cell‐free DNA is a more cost‐effective strategy for non‐invasive prenatal aneuploidy screening compared to cell‐free DNA only.
