COVID-19 history leads to increased hepatic lipid content in type 2 diabetes patients. This study of 15 patients (58±12 years, BMI 30.9) showed a 56% increase in hepatic lipid content (HL-PDFF, p=0.04) after one year, compared to a control group of 14 participants. No changes were observed in liver stiffness, adiposity, or insulin resistance, indicating selective metabolic alterations post-COVID-19.
