Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) cases linked to intimate partner violence (IPV) reveal significant neuropathological findings. Two cases of CTE in women with histories of prolonged IPV were studied post-mortem, highlighting multiple facial and scalp scars alongside recent scalp injuries. Neuropathological analysis showed typical CTE markers: subarachnoid bleeding, old subdural hemorrhages, and neuronal tau protein deposits. Despite co-existing tauopathies and mild cerebral amyloid angiopathy, CTE criteria were met. These cases emphasize the need to recognize chronic repetitive head injury in IPV contexts and provide specialized support for cognitive and behavioral deficits associated with CTE.

A retrospective study of 527 patients with oral cancer found that reduced temporalis muscle thickness (TMT) on MRI was associated with greater disability and higher all-cause mortality. An umbrella review of 69 systematic reviews covering 970 studies and 221 factors identified six factors with convincing evidence of association with psychotic disorders. High population attributable fractions were observed for childhood adversities (40.69%), Toxoplasma gondii IgG positivity (20.47%), frequent cannabis use (12.75%), and clinical high risk for psychosis (12.68%).
