The study examined D3K2 supplementation with nonsurgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) in 38 diabetic patients with periodontitis. Both groups improved clinically over six months, but only the D3K2 group showed higher 25(OH)D3 levels (p=0.02). Inflammatory markers decreased, especially IL-1β in controls. Overall, D3K2 offered limited additional biochemical or clinical benefit beyond standard NSPT.
