Danish women's preferences regarding gynecological examination support international recommendations: A cross‐sectional study

This study investigated the women's preferences and experiences during gynecological examinations (GEs) and whether these were influenced by socioeconomic status. The results indicated that a significant portion of women valued a changing room, preferred a garment for coverage, desired a separate examination room, and considered the presence of a chaperone important. Women outside the workforce expressed feeling insufficiently informed, perceived unprofessionalism in their experiences with healthcare providers and reported more pain during GEs. The findings underscore the importance of privacy and modesty during GEs and highlight the need to address the concerns of women outside the workforce.
