
A study involving 37 patients with HFpEF was conducted to determine the effects of Dapagliflozin on systemic arterial compliance and venous capacitance during exercise. After 24 weeks of treatment, Dapagliflozin did not significantly affect resting blood pressure but reduced systolic blood pressure during peak exercise (ETD: −18.8 mm Hg). It improved total arterial compliance (ETD: 0.06 mL/mm Hg/m²) and aortic root characteristic impedance (ETD: −2.6 mm Hg/mL*sec) while decreasing estimated stressed blood volume (ETD: −292 mm Hg) and enhancing venous capacitance (ETD: −7.3%). These effects were correlated with reductions in body weight and improvements in pulmonary capillary wedge pressure. Dapagliflozin’s impact on arterial stiffness and vascular function may contribute to its clinical benefits in HFpEF patients.
