The study investigates the impact of dapagliflozin on inflammation and cardiac remodeling in patients with type 2 diabetes and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Over 12 months, 60 participants were treated with dapagliflozin or placebo. Results showed a significant reduction in C-reactive protein levels with dapagliflozin, though other inflammatory markers remained unchanged. Improved global longitudinal strain correlated with reduced inflammation. These findings suggest that reductions in systemic inflammation might contribute to the cardiovascular benefits of dapagliflozin.
