
The Drug Control General of India (DCGI) has authorized an Omicron-specific booster vaccine called GEMCOVAC-OM. Developed by Gennova Biopharmaceuticals, the mRNA-based vaccine was supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and delivered using a needle-free injection device. The vaccine showed significantly higher immune responses when administered as a booster and can be stored and transported at regular temperatures.
