A nationwide Danish study spanning 20 years (2000–2019) analyzed sudden cardiac death (SCD) trends in individuals aged 1–35 years. The SCD incidence decreased by 49%, with annual reductions of 3.31%, attributed to improved survival following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), increased bystander CPR, defibrillation rates, and advancements in diagnosing inherited cardiac diseases. Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantations doubled during this period. Despite these advancements, unwitnessed SCD rates remained unchanged, highlighting the need for enhanced preventive strategies.
