The study explored the variability of 3D hip morphology in individuals with borderline acetabular dysplasia, a condition affecting the hip joint. The researchers analyzed 70 hips of patients undergoing hip preservation surgery using low-dose computed tomography. They found that lateral coverage was deficient in 74.1% of the hips, while anterior and posterior coverage showed high variability. The study also revealed diverse patterns of coverage, with isolated lateral under coverage being the most common.
