Deliberations of the Safety Task Force: Risk factors and treatment of adverse events associated with aesthetic injectables

The Global Safety Task Force (STF) was established to improve safety in aesthetic procedures involving fillers, biostimulators, and neurotoxins. Sixteen experts from nine countries collaborated on key safety topics, including vascular compromise prevention, treatment protocols, and future safety improvements. A global database for tracking filler-related adverse events was supported by 93% of participants, emphasizing data standardization and contributor inclusivity. Aspiration as a safety technique was favored by 73%, while 43% incorporated ultrasound in their practices, albeit with differing views on its benefits. Cannula use was common, with 93% employing it for specific injections. Discussions also covered vascular adverse event management and the need for more precise safety endpoints. The STF will continue to advance safety protocols and research in future meetings.
