Diabetes Increases Mortality in All Types of Heart Failure

In this large cohort study of 73,344 patients with heart failure, those with type 2 diabetes had significantly higher all-cause mortality, regardless of heart failure type (ischaemic or non-ischaemic) or sex. Mortality hazard ratios ranged from 1.20 to 1.26 across subgroups. Findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to improve survival in diabetic patients with heart failure.
