Diabetes patients after pregnancy have a lower chance of controlling blood sugar levels

A recent study published in the journal 'Diabetes Care' reveals that individuals who develop diabetes after pregnancy, particularly those with gestational diabetes, have a reduced ability to control the condition, especially if they are Black or Hispanic. The study indicates that the likelihood of developing diabetes within nine years postpartum is over 11 times higher for those with gestational diabetes compared to those without.
