Differential Racial Impact of Genetic Alterations in Endometrial Cancer Revealed in Comprehensive Study

A retrospective cohort study exploring the prevalence and outcomes of POLE and POLD1 alterations in endometrial cancer across racial groups. The study included 6919 cases and found variations in alterations among Asian, Black, and White patients. Black patients exhibited lower POLE alteration prevalence but had better outcomes with POLD1 alterations. A composite biomarker panel of POLD1 or POLE alterations could guide treatment de-escalation, particularly benefiting Black patients. The study suggests a potential clinical application for personalized treatment based on genetic alterations in endometrial cancer.
