A study of brain diffusion-based connectivity in multiple sclerosis (MS) found that the severity of connectivity changes varies depending on the MS phenotype. Secondary progressive MS is associated with more widespread changes in connectivity, while primary progressive MS has fewer differences in connectivity compared to other MS phenotypes. The study also found that machine learning algorithms can accurately distinguish between MS phenotypes based on brain connectivity data.
