Digital Therapy Almee Reduces Anxiety in Pulmonary Fibrosis

The COMPANION trial assessed the anxiolytic efficacy of Almee, a digital cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), in patients with pulmonary fibrosis and moderate anxiety (GAD-7 score ≥5). This randomized, controlled trial compared Almee to treatment as usual over nine weeks. Among 108 participants, Almee significantly improved GAD-7 scores, with a 2.7-point reduction compared to controls (p=0.0006). The therapy was well-tolerated, highlighting its potential as a personalized intervention to manage anxiety in pulmonary fibrosis patients.
