Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, the Minister of State for Health, emphasized that all doctors must write prescriptions using generic names, and it is preferable to do so in capital letters. Failure to follow these guidelines could lead to disciplinary action taken against the physician by the relevant State Medical Councils or the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC). This statement was made before the Parliament.
