
Researchers have discovered distinct post-translational signatures of soluble tau in post-mortem brain samples of individuals with various tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease, corticobasal degeneration, Pick disease, and frontotemporal lobar degeneration. These findings offer potential targets for the development of fluid-based biomarkers, enabling the differentiation of tauopathies in living individuals. This discovery may lead to improved diagnostic methods and earlier interventions for these neurodegenerative disorders.
