The World Health Organization (WHO) Chief, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, highlighted the importance of negotiations to prevent future pandemics during the annual health assembly in Geneva. 'Disease X,' an unidentified virus, has been added to WHO's list of 'priority diseases.' Scientists have expressed concern and emphasized the need to remain prepared for such scenarios. They anticipate the next outbreak to be zoonotic in nature, originating from animals before spreading to humans. The WHO's priority list also includes diseases like Marburg virus, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, and Nipah virus, among others.
