Does Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis Length and Location Change with Serial Endoscopic Interventions?

A study examined the effects of serial endoscopic surgical intervention on subglottic stenosis (SGS). Involving 52 patients with idiopathic SGS, the research revealed that patients undergoing two procedures experienced a significant reduction in stenosis length (p = 0.014) but not distance from the glottis (p = 0.833). Overall, serial endoscopic excision/dilation procedures for idiopathic SGS did not significantly alter stenosis length or location. The study was a retrospective chart review, providing valuable insights into this condition.
